You can do it yourself, here’s how. There are several ways to do bathroom mirror installation and the style of the mirror can determine what installation procedure you will use. I am going to show you the installation procedure that I prefer to use for a basic bathroom mirror installation.
Tools and supplies needed:
Mirror hanging clips and screws
Level
Pencil or painter’s tape
Drill and bit
Hammer
Screwdriver
Stud finder
Laser level - not needed but can make the installation easier.
Generally, your bathroom mirror will be centered above your sink at the proper height that works the best for you and the other members of your family. Depending on the size of your bathroom mirror, have a person or two hold the mirror in it’s proper location and level it with a level or a laser level. Then outline the location on the wall of all four corners of the mirror with a pencil or painter’s tape if you want to avoid having to erase pencil marks later.
Use the corner marks you made as a reference point. Then mark the locations of two mirror clips at each corner. Then, drill a pilot hole and drive a plastic screw anchor in the wall with a hammer at the mirror clip locations you just marked. Now, screw in the mirror clips at the bottom corners of the mirror.
Then with the help of someone, gently slide the mirror down into the bottom mirror clips. While someone is still steadying the mirror screw in the mirror clips at the top corners of the mirror. Lastly, you will put in the remaining mirror clips.
Always try to put mirror clips into wall studs when you can. To do this use a stud finder to mark the stud locations around the bathroom mirror. Then, screw in the mirror clips into the studs. If more mirror clips are required, drill a pilot hole and drive a plastic screw anchor in the wall with a hammer at the proper remaining mirror clip locations and screw in the mirror clips. Use the proper amount and space the mirror clips out appropriately according to the size and weight of the bathroom mirror. If you have an oval bathroom mirror use the basic instructions above but alter them to correspond with your oval bathroom mirror. If you are replacing your old mirror be sure to use proper bathroom mirror removal procedures to remove your old mirror. That completes your bathroom mirror installation. Enjoy.
