What is the fastest and EASIEST way to remove wallpaper, and then prep the walls for paint?
Pam - Thank you for submitting a question to our Bathroom Remodel How-To page...
Removing Wallpaper can be a tough and un-rewarding job....
I have had to remove wallpaper from bathroom walls, walls in the hallway, as well as bathroom walls..... my best advice to you is to use a sponge saturated in a water / vinegar solution to wet and saturate the wallpaper. Once the wallpaper is saturated, it will peel easily from the walls....
It still will not be easy work as you will need to continually saturate different areas of the wall, but it will work. Use a scraping tool to remove the dampened paper.
I have tried steamers, and other expensive options, but this water and sponge option works better.
Once the paper is removed, use drywall spackle to smooth the wall in prep for painting!
Good Luck on your bathroom remodel!
