How to replace bathroom faucets on sink and tub

by alison
(houston, tx)

I want to replace the existing chrome sink, shower, and tub faucets and handles(?)and replace with new ones, but I want to make sure I attach them properly. Can you please give me a general step by step for this?

Alison - Thank you for submitting a question on our bathroom remodel how to page.

For the bathroom sink....

1 - choose a faucet with the same hole pattern of the faucet that is on your sink now.

2 - turn off the water supply to the sink

3 - remove the current faucet by using a wrench to unscrew the existing nuts under the faucet.

4 - remove the old faucet

5 - install the new bathroom faucet - your faucet may come with some instructions. tighten the nuts.

6 - use teflon tape when attaching the water lines to the new faucet.

----

The bathtub faucet can be harder especially if there is tile around the faucet.

Check the rear of the bathtub to determine the type of faucet that is in your tub.

Good Luck on your bathroom remodel....
