I want to remove a Garden Tub and put in a standard 60 in bathtub with shower. What do I have to do in order to rearrange the water supply and drainage?

A garden tub is sometimes an unsupported tub, where a regular 60 inch tub is usually surrounded by three walls. This means that you will probably be adding some drywall to your bathroom as well as moving plumbing around.
Depending on where your garden tub faucet is located on your tub, you may or may not have a lot of plumbing to take care of....
First, remove the garden tub, and take a look at the resulting plumbing. Now, once again, depending on the location of the plumbing and the location of the drain in the new tub (either right or left)... once you have a good picture of what needs to be done, you should be able to see how much water pipe and drain pipe that you will need.
At this point, not seeing what what you are dealing with, you might visit the local warehouse store or plumbing store for some information.... or you might want to find a bathroom remodel contractor to help with your plumbing.
Good luck on your bathroom remodel!
