My husband and I decided to completely gut our bathroom. There are no walls or ceiling so the plumbing is exposed. Our house was built in the 40's and so it only has a tub and we would like to add a shower to it. How do we do that? Like I said everything is exposed and easy to get to.
Any answers would be appreciated. Also we were wondering on the plumbing would work if we would want to go to a single handle faucet?
Sarah - Thank you for submitting a Bathroom Shower How To question...
The photo that I posted above is of bathtub plumbing all set for a single handle delta faucet..... like the one shown below.
You can see that the hot and cold water are combined into the faucet assembly.... the additional pipe going up is for the shower.
The shower faucet assembly comes with full instructions for assembly..... if the plumbing seems a little on the tough side, don't feel bad about hiring a plumber for that portion.
Good Luck on your bathroom remodel.
