Can I take out the old shower unit when I don't have a water cut off for the shower only?
I want to saw into pieces the old shower which is 33"D x 46"W x 80"H then put new tile and base in with glass door.
There is not a water cut off in the bathroom for the shower. The water is coming up inside the wall from the crawl space under the house and there is no cut off for only the shower there as well. I do not want to shut off water to the whole house while I remodel the shower so my question is: can I take off the single handle shower faucet without turning off the water and remove the shower unit?
David - Yes, you can remove the knobs to the shower enough to get the old unit out without turning off the water supply to the shower (which in your case would be to the entire house.)
Good Luck on your bathroom remodel!
