My family owns a very old 2 family house and we are starting to do MUCH NEEDED renovations and the cash flow is very limited after all the other work has been done! We have old plastic tiles in the bathroom - they are covering the bathroom walls, as well as, the shower walls. I want to give the shower a face lift and remove the plastic tiles, but I don't know what's underneath, other than the glue! What should I do? How can I replace the old tiles with new tiles?
A little Help.....
Thank you for submitting a bathroom remodel problem question on our bathroom remodel problems page.
The plastic bathroom tile can be removed - there will be glue under the tiles that should be scraped as well as possible. After chiseling off the glue, apply a thin coat of plaster to smooth the wall....
You can now proceed with re-tiling the bathroom.
Good luck on your bathroom remodel.....
