Separate Tub and Shower Drainage

We would like to install a separate tub and shower in our basement bathroom. There is an existing 2" drain pipe which we want to tie both fixtures to. Is this okay or do we have to run two separate drain lines to the 4" main?

It will be okay to tie both drains to the same 2" drain pipe... the only problem might be when or if both the tub and shower are draining at the same time.... there may be some slower moving water at that time....
