What are the no-no's to backer boards in the bath/shower surround.......BLUE BOARD OR CEMENT BOARD?

There are so many different city and county codes that will vary from state to state as well as city and county to city and county.... too many to try to give you an exact answer to that portion of your question....
That being said... There is a green sheetrock that will give you mold and mildew protection.. so that might be the one to look at....
